In the reviews, I was criticized for swearing and speaking too quickly. I think I’d be a lot more disappointed with myself if I didn’t show up as the fullest expression of myself in this and all my other podcast episodes. A one in 4 billion chance that got gifted with life and you are here to be and express the fullest version of yourself always and in all ways. You are here on earth to be the best version of yourself and not to act, speak, look, behave or create in a way that is palatable for everyone else. I am so grateful for all the feedback I’ve gotten on this episode specifically because it’s really solidified this for me. The point is: You truly cannot make everyone happy. People are either telling me it’s exactly what they needed or that they hate everything about it. It’s basically a peppering of 1 and 5 star reviews. I have gotten such a mixed bag of reviews on this particular podcast episode. Here are a few of the things I’ve learned from this situation: 1. This situation has become a very insightful learning experience but also a very “Jesus take the wheel” one too! When you’re creating something and sharing it with the world people’s reactions are entirely out of your control. After I received more reviews that literally altered between one-star and five-star and back again, I really just had to laugh! This podcast was the first to receive a one-star review and to have people literally take time out of their day to critique it. I’m going to be honest, my first reaction was to be a little hurt. It’s been an interesting rollercoaster ride as I’ve listened to and taken action on some of the feedback and really dug into how this experience has made me feel. I recently had an interesting experience when I uploaded my podcast episode about The Power of Protecting Your Vibration and I received very mixed reviews and some very critical comments. I truly believe in their mission and I am grateful to be apart of a platform that is making meditation easy and accessible to so many people. I was a long time member of the community long before I decided to upload meditations and podcasts there. And, no, it’s not because I teach on there.
